YOUR VISIT WITH 2ND STAR AT THE BOWIE PLAYHOUSE

The City of Bowie owns and operates the 150-seat ADA accessible Bowie Playhouse in Whitemarsh Park (at 16500 White Marsh Pk Dr, Bowie, MD 20715). 2nd Star is a non-profit, all volunteer community theater that produces shows as a resident company at the Bowie Playhouse.

PARKING

MAIN PARKING LOT
After entering Whitemarsh Park through the main entrance off of Route 3, Drive past Sport Fit and park in the furthest lot. (The theater lot is closest to the woods and adjacent to the athletic fields). Take a short, scenic walk on the paved path to the theater, following park signage. Please plan a few extra minutes into your arrival time to walk from the parking lot to the theater. Patrons can be dropped off in front of the Playhouse, but please park in the main lot unless you have appropriate tags for the disability parking next to the theater.

DISABILITY PARKING
Follow the park signage to locate marked disability parking spots next to the Playhouse. The City does monitor these parking spots, so please ensure proper tags are displayed when parking next to the theater.

IN THEATER EXPERIENCE

The Bowie Playhouse lobby will open 90 minutes prior to the show, however, the Box Office does not open until one hour prior to the show (at 7pm for an 8pm show and 1pm for a 2pm show).

Please arrive on time for your performance. Shows begin promptly at the stated performance time. Our theater is small, so arriving late causes significant disruption to audience members around you, as well as to our performers.

Seating is general admission.
The auditorium will open for seating approximately 30 minutes prior to the show's start time. We ask you to move into rows and take up only the number of seats you have purchased tickets for so that we can accommodate all patrons, start on time, and minimize disruptions.

Concessions will be available in the lobby in exchange for donations (cash and digital payments accepted). Snacks and drinks should be consumed in the lobby or outside the theater and are not allowed inside the theater. No alcohol will be offered as it is not permitted by the City within the Park.

Photos and videos are not allowed during the show for the safety of our actors and for legal reasons, but we encourage you to post photos from the lobby or with anyone you came to see after the show. Tag us @2ndstarbowie!

2nd Star is a non-profit community theater and is completely volunteer-run. Theater volunteer staff changes from performance to performance and we appreciate your patience and kindness as we work together to give you a great experience at the theater.

DIGITAL PROGRAM AVAILABLE

We have a digital program available and appreciate you considering skipping a paper program. Opting for a digital program helps us focus our nonprofit budget on the quality of our shows and is eco-friendly. (Don't worry, we'll still have some printed programs available if you need a souvenir!)

SEATING ACCESSIBILITY

Wheelchair positions are available as needed in the theater. A seating reservation should be made if a member of your group needs to remain in a wheelchair for the duration of the performance. Please note in the appropriate space on your ticket order how many non-transferable wheelchairs are in your ticket group so that we can prepare the theater accordingly.

For patrons who are able to transfer to a seat, our House Manager and Ushers will assist you with storing walkers or other mobility devices away from the aisles during the show, and will ensure they are returned at intermission and post-show. Please alert an usher to your needs when you arrive at the theater.

The Bowie Playhouse offers assisted listening devices for patrons. Please retrieve these from the Box Office.
