2019

Ruby Griffith Award

In 1969 the British Embassy Players established the Ruby Griffith Awards for outstanding achievement in theatrical productions in Washington, DC and surrounding areas.
 
2nd Star Productions was awarded the 2018-2019 Ruby Griffith top Award for All-Around Production Excellence for our musical “Ragtime“.

We were honored to receive 21 WATCH (Washington Area Theater Community Honors) Award nominations. Congratulations to all of our nominees and our four winners: Jane B. Wingard for Set Painting (Annie Get Your Gun), Sascha Nelson for Makeup Design (Mary Poppins), Joanne D. Wilson for Outstanding Properties (Mary Poppins), and Brian Douglas, Fred Nelson, and Gene Valendo for Special Effects (Mary Poppins).

2nd Star Productions was awarded the 2016-2017 Ruby Griffith Award for Best Musical for our production of “H.M.S. Pinafore.

2nd Star was honored to receive 21 WATCH (Washington Area Theater Community Honors) Award nominations in 2017. Congratulations to all of our nominees and to our two award winners: Jane Wingard who won the Set Painting in a Musical category (“Guys and Dolls“) and Joe Biddle who won for Outstanding Music Direction (“H.M.S. Pinafore“).
